An American professional baseball catcher and first baseman known for his versatility and left-handed bat. A New Jersey native, he played college baseball at the University of Virginia, helping lead the program to its first national championship in 2015 before being selected 16th overall in the 2016 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Angels. Thaiss made his MLB debut in 2019 and has played across multiple positions throughout his professional career.
