Corey Floyd Will Return to Providence College

Corey Floyd, the outstanding starting guard for the Providence Friars, will remain at PC for his senior year and not enter the NCAA’s college basketball transfer portal.

Corey, a 6’4” New Jersey native, averaged 9.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2 assists this past season, while shooting 43.1% from the field and 80% from the foul line.

“I'm excited to be returning to Providence for my senior year,” Corey said after discussions with Coach Kim English. “We're reloading and are preparing to win at a high level.”

“I’ve met so many athletes during my corporate career and now at IPZ, and Corey will be an asset for any brand,” said Robert Zito, managing partner at IPZ.  “He’s not just a dynamic performer on the court; his personality, warmth and “can do” attitude will endear customers to the brands he represents.”

Richmond’s DeLonnie Hunt Seeks Pro Opportunities Overseas

The University of Richmond’s sharpshooting guard, DeLonnie Hunt, has signed with the combination of Endurance Sports, IPZ, and Players Group for professional representation.

DeLonnie averaged 15.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game last year, while shooting 42.2% from the floor and 84.3% from the foul line.  He also had 2.1 steals per game, while committing just 1.6 turnovers.

“We are excited to represent such a good player as DeLonnie Hunt as he embarks on his professional career,” said Greg Murphy, Siebert Vice President of New Business Development.

Endurance is a division of Siebert Financial (NASDAQ: SIEB) and a client of Zito Partners.  Players Group is one of the leading European sports agencies and the preferred partner of IPZ.  Players Group was co-founded by Vittorio Gallinari, the legendary Italian basketball star who played 18 years in Serie A and won 13 different European championships.

The Kids are Alright

The three New Jersey high school basketball players represented by IPZ concluded outstanding seasons, both on a  team and personal level.

Jamir Westry, a senior at Payne Tech in Newark, was selected to the first team Super Essex Conference American Division, first team All Essex County, and Third Team All Group 3.  He also set a single season steals record for Payne Tech.  Jamir will play for the New Jersey Bulldogs in the upcoming AAU season and is undecided on where he will attend college.

Mason Santiago and Richie Rosa, both juniors at St. Peter’s Prep, helped Prep win their third straight Hudson County championship.  Mason was voted first team All-Conference, while Richie was the league’s Co-Player of the Year, and earned 2nd team All State (Non-Public) and 3rd team All State (overall) honors.  The Prep teammates are also members of the Puerto Rico National team, and will compete with the Riverside Hawks (NY) in the Under Armor Circuit this spring and summer.

Pro Agents’ Players Open MLB Season

Two members of the Pro Agents’ player roster broke spring training with their major league teams, and are off to solid starts.

Steven Okert, the lefthander from California who is now with the Houston Astros, has been in three games in the early season, not allowing a run and striking out seven in three and two-thirds innings.  Okert was a 4th round draft pick of the San Francisco Giants in the 2012 draft.

Matt Thaiss, the catcher for the Chicago White Sox, is 4-16 in the early going of the season, with a double, two RBI, three runs scored and five walks.  The Jackson, NJ, native played college ball at the University of Virginia and was drafted in the first round of the 2016 MLB draft by the Los Angeles Angels.

Both players are available for brand and marketing opportunities on a local and national level.
