IPZ Ice Hockey welcomes recent first round NHL Selection, Dean Letourneau
Dean Letourneau, a 6'7" Power Forward from Braeside, Ontario, and a first round pick of the Boston Bruins, will be represented by IPZ for his marketing opportunities.
Letourneau dominated the U18 AAA Canadian circuit last season posting 61 goals, 66 assists and 127 points in 56 games for St. Andrew's College.
On Friday evening in Las Vegas at the Vegas Sphere, he was selected in the 1st round, 25th overall, by the Boston Bruins in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
He will join the Boston College Eagles this fall, as BC hopes to make it back to the title game after falling short to Denver 2-0 in the National Championship in April.
Okert continues to roll
Steven Okert continues to pitch well out of the bullpen for the Minnesota Twins this year.
In their recent series against the Diamondbacks, the Twins were able to win two out of three games with Okert hurling 1 1/3 innings in relief during their Game Two win. After getting Eugenio Suarez to ground out to first, he retired the next three batters on strikeouts.
Okert also pitched in relief in Game Two of the Twins weekend series against the Seattle Mariners. He threw 17 pitches while striking out one batter, helping the Twins secure a 5-1 win.
Minnesota's bullpen has been a strong point for their team this year as one of the best in the big leagues. Okert has been consistent in relief, with his current ERA sitting at 3.20. He has also added 24 strikeouts across 25.1 innings pitched. Since May 11, he has posted a 2.57 ERA while only allowing four walks across 14 outings.
The Twins are currently sitting in the second AL wild card spot, just one game ahead of the
Kansas City Royals and 2.5 games ahead of the Boston Red Sox. The Twins will need Okert and their bullpen to stay strong for the remainder of the season as they battle for a playoff spot.
